French-Cameroonian DJ and producer Tatyana Jane, released her new EP Discordia on Ed Banger on June 4. After collaborating with Skrillex and performing during the 2024 Olympic Games ceremonies in front of more than 190 million viewers worldwide, Tatyana now joins the Ed Banger family. It also marks a particularly meaningful moment for the iconic French label, which has not signed a female artist in quite some time, making Tatyana’s arrival both exciting and highly symbolic.

Discordia is a hybrid project bringing together two worlds that have always shaped her artistic identity: electronic music and rap. Blending bass music, baile funk, South African gqom and Cameroonian bend-skin influences, Tatyana creates a powerful and deeply percussive club sound, featuring collaborations with French rappers Kay The Prodigy and Lala &ce.

The project is strongly inspired by the idea of travel and movement. Drawing from the yellow “Discordia” trucks seen across Cameroonian roads, as well as the bend-skin motorcycle taxis of Douala, the EP unfolds like a sonic ride through rhythmic landscapes and contrasting emotions.

For Pedro Winter, founder of the label, the EP perfectly reflects Ed Banger’s eclectic DNA: music navigating between trap, techno and bass music while maintaining a singular percussive identity.
